Angeline Quinto’s adoptive mother Mama Bob is probably smiling in heaven because her last wish for the superstar singer was granted. Tuesday last week, Angeline performed in Iba, Zambales. The singer and songwriter was back in tip-top shape 60 days after giving birth. Although she looked tired, it was almost midnight, Gossip Girl was able to get an exclusive interview with her:
Gossip Girl: How are you?
Angeline: "I am happy to announce that I am back to work. It’s been months since I stopped working after getting pregnant and giving birth to Sylvio. Now that he is two months old, I have started mix feeding, so I can work. My body is also craving to sing and do concerts again. I have an upcoming concert in the U.S. and Canada, and I am doing provincial shows like this. I will also start doing movies again."
Gossip Girl: In one of your interviews when Mama Bob died last year, you said you were very sad because you were not able to fulfill one of Mama Bob’s dreams for you. What was that dream?
Angeline: I am glad you remember Mama Bob, Ate Giselle. Mama Bob had a lot of dreams for me that I was able to bring to reality. She wanted me to win in Star Power, Sharon Cuneta’s search for the next female pop superstar, and I gave that to her. She wanted to travel the world, and so I would bring her to all my concert performances all over the world. She wanted a regular television show for me, and ABS-CBN gave me ASAP. Mama Bob wanted to see me in the silver screen, and I did seven movies for her. I gave her everything she wanted, except for one thing. Before mama Bob’s stroke, she has been prodding me to look for a husband and start my own family. I would often answer, “What for, I have you mama Bob.”
But she would answer, “Who is going to take care of you when I am gone? Who will be with you when I am no longer with you ?” When she died, I was devastated, it seemed that I lost my purpose until my son Sylvio came into my life. The reason why I named my son Sylvio is that mama Bob’s real name is Sylvia. It’s like her spirit was reincarnated back into my baby Sylvio. I now have my baby Sylvio, I now found my purpose in life. My whole life and mindset has changed because of Sylvio. I take care of myself now, so I can be a good mother to my child. Barkada and material things come second and third to Sylvio. He is the center of my world now.
Starting September till October, Angeline, together with Budakhel (Bugoy Drilon, Darryl Ong, and Michael Pangilinan), will be touring Canada And the United States for a series of concerts. You can check the schedule on her Instagram and Facebook.
