21 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Caraga region in seven days


BUTUAN CITY – The regional office of the Department of Health (DOH Caraga Region 13) on Monday afternoon, July 4, reported 21 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in the past week in Caraga region.

The figure was recorded from June 26 to July 2, with no death registered, the regional office of the DOH 13 said in a statement sent to The Manila Bulletin.

In its weekly report Monday, DOH-13 said no Covid-19 cases were recorded in the cities of Tandag and Bislig in the same period.

No Covid-19 infections were also logged in the Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI), Surigao del Norte and Agusan del Norte during the period.

In its new cases by province and city, the DOH 13 said Agusan del Sur registered 7 cases (Talacogon 4, Rosario 2, Esperanza 1), and Surigao del sur 3 (Barobo 1, San Agustin 1, Tago 1).

One case each in the cities of Bayugan and Cabadbaran and 2 new cases in Surigao City (Punta Bilar and Ipil) Also new cases by barangay in Butuan City: Baan Km. 3-3, Villa Kananga -1, San Vicente-1, Pangabugan -1, Libertad-1, and Ampayon-1.

No severe or critical cases though were reported in the 21 new Covid-19 cases logged last week in Caraga region, the agency added.

However, with this new development, the DOH 13 Regional Director Cesar C. Cassion reminded the public ‘not to be complacent about the threat of Covid-19.’ “We must continue to properly adhere to the minimum public health standards under Alert Level 1,” added the DOH 13.

Meanwhile, Caraga region also registered 22 new recoveries last week, bringing the total number of recoveries to 56,784 The death toll from the virus stood at 2,213 as no Covid-19 fatalities were reported in the past week in Caraga region.
