Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said the start of the voter registration was also peaceful and orderly.

"Based on initial assessment reports coming from Comelec Field Offices, the first day of the resumption of Voter’s Registration today, July 4, 2022, was peaceful and orderly, with a relatively high turn-out of applicants across the board in all regions," he said in a statement.

"Initial Reports nationwide, particularly from the National Capital Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Regions 2, 3, 4A, 5, 6, 12 and BARMM showed orderly queues in City and Municipal Election Officers’ Offices, with most applicants belonging to the new members of the Katipunan ng Kabataan-Sangguniang Kabataan, aged 15 to 17 years old," Laudiangco added.

He then reminded qualified voters that they still have until July 23 to register.

"Voter registration will continue until July 23, 2022, Mondays to Saturdays including holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in all Comelec City and Municipal Offices, with satellite and off-site registrations being held with due notice to facilitate more applicants and further bolster anti-Covid 19 preventive measures," said Laudiangco.

The Comelec earlier set the resumption of voter registration for the December 5, 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls from July 4 to 23.
