Anti-red tape policies pushed under the Duterte leadership will continue to be fully implemented under the Marcos administration, Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) said.

“As we have entered the Marcos administration, we remain committed to implementing Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business Law and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, and to ensuring that national anti-red tape policies are upheld,” the agency said Sunday, July 3.

It also stated that as an agency attached to the Office of the President, ARTA shall “conform to his (Marcos) directives as we carry out our mandated empowerment and enforcement functions.”

“We concur with President Marcos that digitalization, together with streamlining and automation, is truly the key to making doing business in the Philippines easier,” the agency said.

It also committed to continue working with other agencies, developmental partners, and private stakeholders to further the agency’s initiatives that aim to improve government services and create a business environment that attracts and sustains investors.

These initiatives, it added, are intended to help the country recover from the devastating effects of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country’s economy and in all aspects of the society.

“Through our concerted efforts, we hope to be on par with other countries in the digitalization of our government services, which will provide not only an enabling business environment but a higher level of convenience for our citizens,” it further said.

Among the programs it implemented in the previous administration include the National Effort for the Harmonization of Efficient Measures of Inter-related Agencies (NEHEMIA) Program, Philippine Business Hub (PBH), the electronic Business One-Stop Shops (eBOSS), and the Unified Logistics Pass (ULP).
