Drunk man who was asked to go home stabs two drinking buddies in Tanza, Cavite

TANZA, Cavite – A foreman and a construction worker were stabbed by their colleague during a drinking session here on Thursday, June 30.

According to Staff Sergeant Jonathan Lagario of Tanza Municipal Police Station, the two victims and their other co-workers engaged in a drinking session at the construction site in Barangay Sahud Ulan where they were working.

Around 30 minutes into their drinking spree, the suspect, identified as Alvin Giraldo, arrived and wanted to join the group. However, the construction worker already appeared to be drunk.

"Sumama siya sa inuman. Nagpahiwatig itong mga biktima na kung lasing na... Kung nakainom man, umuwi na lang, matulog na lang. Eh minasama po ng suspect (He joined the drinking session. The victims expressed that if he is already drunk, he should go home and sleep. The suspect did not take it very well)," Lagario told the Manila Bulletin.

The suspect reportedly headed to the barracks and went back with a knife and stabbed the two victims, who sustained wounds on the arms and hands.

Giraldo tried to get away but was apprehended by the barangay public safety officers of Barangay Sahud Ulan.

The suspect is under police custody and is facing frustrated homicide charges.
