Former Camarines Sur Rep., Budget Secretary Andaya found dead in Naga City


LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Former Camarines Sur Rep. and Budget Secretary Rolando Andaya Jr. was found dead in his bedroom in his house in Naga City, Thursday, June 30.

Police said that the body of Andaya was discovered by his personal assistant, John Mark Patrick L. Señar, with a bullet wound to the head.

Senar allegedly heard a gunshot prior to the discovery of the body.

His death was confirmed by his family in his Facebook page.

"With deep grief and sadness, we announce the untimely death of our father, former member of the House of Representatives, Rolando “Nonoy” G. Andaya Jr., this morning, June 30, 2022,” they said.

“We request for your fervent prayers for his eternal repose, and to allow us, his family, to grieve privately our loss. Thank you very much. Ranton & Katrina M. Andaya."

Andaya, a former House Majority Leader, was 53 when he passed away.
