The Lady Generals bucked a close opening-set defeat and turned back the Lady Pirates with Krizzia Reyes and Cathrine Almazan at the forefront of their attack to finally clinch their first victory.

Reyes erupted for 24 points including 22 on the attack line while Almazan chipped in 13 kills for 14 for EAC, which dug deep into their bag of tricks in the third set before dictating the tempo in the fourth.

Trailing 20-22 in the third frame, the Lady Generals drilled in four straight points for set point advantage, 24-22.

Lyceum fought back to extend the set before Reyes unloaded a kill and Johna Dolorito committed an attack error to give the set victory to the Lady Generals.

It was a different scenario in the fourth set as EAC set the pace with an 11-6 start and led by as many as 24-14 for good.

EAC outplayed Lyceum in attacks, 43-39, while also posting more blocks, 5-3, and service aces, 7-6.

The loss evened Lyceum’s win-loss record to 3-3 in the middle standings despite Jewel Maligmat scoring 16 points and Dolorito adding 14 points.
