The Department of Health (DOH) reminded the public to strictly observe the health and safety protocols as several people are expected to participate in the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos and those who will mount protest actions on Thursday, June 30.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire reminded the public that the Covid-19 virus remains a threat.
“Lagi po natin tatandaan na nandito pa rin ang virus. So, alam natin na importante ang mga event na ito, kailangan lang po maging vigilant tayo, maging aware tayo, at laging ipatupad ang minimum public health standards (Always remember that the virus is still here. So, we know that these events are important. We just need to be vigilant, be aware, and always practice the minimum public health standards),” said Vergeire on Wednesday, June 29.
In particular, Vergeire emphasized the importance of correctly wearing face masks.
“Please wear your mask properly. I-cover po ang nose at bibig (Cover your nose and mouth),” she said.
“Lagi pong maghuhugas ng kamay, magdala po tayo ng mga alcohol (Always wash your hands, bring alcohol),” she added.
It is also best that those who are planning to participate in these activities have already completed their vaccination and were boosted against Covid-19, said Vegeire.
“Basta siguraduhin niyo lang na pag nagpunta kayo diyan ay kayo ay bakunado with your booster shots para mas sigurado tayo na mas protektado po tayo
(Just make sure that when you go there, you are vaccinated with your booster shots so that you can be assured that you are more protected),” she said.
