Through the said program, the Archdiocese of Manila's poor but deserving youths are given a chance to "earn college or vocational/technical degrees to help them lift their families out of poverty."

"We develop servant leaders. Each scholar is not just expected to graduate but to become a leader in his or her community imbued with self-discipline, moral integrity, and social responsibility," Caritas Manila said in a Facebook post.

This year, Caritas Manila is aiming to help 5,000 poor but deserving youths nationwide.

"All it takes is P30,000 per year to support one Youth Servant Leader," the social action arm said.

Caritas Manila said donations will go to the following: tuition and school fees, books and school projects, board and lodging, food allowance, transportation expenses, and servant leadership formation.

Those who wish to donate may call 8562 0020 to 25 local 118, 139, 135.
