Work in SC, CA suspended June 29-30

Supreme Court (SC)

Work in the Supreme Court (SC) and the Court of Appeals (CA) in Manila have been suspended on Wednesday and Thursday, June 29 and 30, due to the traffic rerouting plan for the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. on June 30.

The circular on the suspension of work in the SC was issued by Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo. For the CA in Manila, the order was issued by Presiding Justice Remedios A. Salazar Fernando.

In his circular citing the traffic rerouting plan, Gesmundo said “all roads leading to the SC (on Padre Faura Street) are affected thereby making it inconvenient for everyone to report for work....”

He said the circular on work suspension was issued in consultation with all the SC justices.

Justice Fernando said the CA consulted with Chief Justice Gesmundo on the work suspension. The CA has also its offices in Cagayan de Oro City for Mindanao and in Cebu City for the Visayas.
