Guns, ammo seized from 2 men in Quezon


CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City, Laguna – Two persons were arrested for illegal possession of firearms during the implementation of search warrants in their houses Sunday, June 26, in Buenavista, Quezon.

The Police Regional Office (PRO) 4-A (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon or Calabarzon area) said combined police forces implemented the search warrant issued by Judge Dennis Galahad C. Orendain, executive judge of the Fourth Judicial Region, Lucena City on gun owners John Mayo and Roderick Andal, both residents of Sitio Taluto, Barangay Cadlit, and Joel Berania, of Sitio Tulay, Barangay Hagonghong.

Seized from Mayo were a caliber .40 pistol, a stainless magazine for caliber .40 with eight bullets, 26 bullets for caliber .40, and 26 bullets for caliber .22.

A converted caliber .22 was recovered from the possession of Andal.

Barania was not at home during the raid but his daughter witnessed the police find an improvised 12-gauge shotgun with bullets and 16 bullets for caliber .45.

Mayo and Andal were arrested in the presence of barangay officials and their relatives and were brought to Camp Nakar, Lucena City for booking procedures. Barania is the subject of a police manhunt.
