ALAMINOS CITY, Pangasinan – A 38-year-old telecommunications company agent is seeking justice for her husband who was mauled to death in Barangay Victoria here Wednesday, June 22, depriving her of a loving spouse and father to their children.

Shairine Joy del Rosario, of Barangay Victoria, reported to the police here that her husband, Eduardo del Rosario, 42, tricycle driver, was mauled by the suspect Isagani Astro, a 42-year-old jobless man, at 1:30 p.m.

Witnesses Ronald Medrano, 31, tricycle driver, and Vilmer N. Abarra, 29, both residents of Barangay Victoria, said Eduardo was sitting on a chair when the suspect came from behind and for no apparent reason, punched and kicked the victim.

The victim slumped to the ground and was taken to the Western Pangasinan District Hospital here but later confined at the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City, this province, where he died two days later, due to injuries he sustained.

The suspect fled and yet to be apprehended.

“Magiging mahirap ngayon ang pagpapalaki ng mga bata lalo na wala na ang kaniyang asawa na tanging sa pamamasada lang siya umaasa, kaya ang nais sana ay mabigyan agad ng hustisya ang pagkamatay ng asawa at makabawas na alalahanin niya at ng kanyang pamilya (It will be difficult for her to raise their children now that her husband is gone. She is appealing for justice for her husband so that she and her family can have peace of mind),” a relative of Shairine said.

Police here assured assistance to the victim’s family.
