According to Maj. Nova Lyn Aggasid, Information officer of Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Police Office (NVPPO), the Philippine National Police Kasibu has already coordinated with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Kasibu which will then forward the request to the DPWH to establish more signages to address vehicular accidents.

The PNP made the request after a vehicular accident on Wednesday, June 22, wherein Benjamin Vadil, 27, died after a tricycle he was riding and driven by Roemar Vadil, collided with a jeepney in Brgy. Bua, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya.

The jeepney was heading towards Brgy Bitnong, Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya while the tricycle was on the way to Brgy. Lupa, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya when the collision happened at around 5:45 p.m.

Based on the police reports, the tricycle encroached the opposite lane and collided with the jeepney because it was allegedly running at a high speed.

The driver of the tricycle sustained injuries while his back rider fell on the road and was run over.

The tricycle driver was brought to Kasibu Municipal hospital but his back rider was declared dead on the spot by Dra Elizabeth Joaquin, Kasibu Municipal Health Officer.

Police said the curved road is an accident-prone area.

On June 10, a municipal councilor died as the SUV car he was driving plunged into a river also in Brgy. Bua, Kasibu.

Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Police Office identified the victim as Alfredo Tucpi II, 49, a resident of barangay Poblacion in Kasibu town where he was a municipal councilor.

Police said that the victim, who was on his way home, reportedly miscalculated the curved portion of the road, as a result of which his car fell into the river.
