BACOOR CITY, Cavite – A man was arrested for strangulating and punching a female person with disability (PWD) in Barangay Talaba III on Tuesday, June 21.
Bacoor City Police Station (CPS) said the victim, who has a back condition, does not know the suspect.
On the day of the incident, the victim was standing in front of a grocery store when the suspect, Rolly Boncales Sr., approached her.
To the victim's surprise, Boncales suddenly strangulated and punched her.
A bystander screamed at the suspect and distracted him, allowing the victim to run away and seek help from barangay officials.
"'Yung suspect, naghiwalay daw silang mag-asawa. Niloko raw siya ng kanyang asawa. Sa init ng ulo, ang napagbuntunan niya, 'yung nakita niya na victim (The suspect and his wife split. The wife reportedly cheated on him. He was furious and took it out on the victim, whom he saw at that moment)," Investigator-on-case Master Sergeant Edison L. Fetalcurin told the Manila Bulletin.
The victim sustained wounds in the face due to the incident.
The suspect is facing charges for attempted homicide and resisting arrest.
