The Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) asked its stakeholders, scholars, applicants, and the public to be vigilant in light of of fake and suspicious social media groups and pages bearing the name or logo of the DOST-SEI and/or its flagship DOST Scholarship Program.
In a statement, DOST-SEI said that it has recently come across numerous websites, and Facebook pages with misleading information about scholarship programs, including fake job offerings. Some of these social media accounts are:

DOST-SEI reminded that any announcement regarding its scholarships, and other programs can only come from the official Facebook page and the official website through the following links:

"Furthermore, applicants and scholars should course all applications and related concerns to the official email addresses of DOST-SEI scholarship division," DOST-SEI said.
"SEI has taken a proper course of action to combat these accounts and would like to affirm its stand against misinformation, disinformation, and mal-information," it added.
Any suspicious social media account or website may be reported to the Institute via email or through the SEI Facebook page.
A total of 10,487 students have recently qualified as new science scholars for academic year 2022 to 2023 after DOST-SEI released the official list. DOST-SEI recently announced the opening of the online application period for the 2022 Junior Level Science Scholarships (JLSS) program. Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2022, via the JLSS E-Scholarship Application System at https://jlss.science-scholarships.ph.
