The Archdiocese of Manila posted a birthday greeting for the former Manila prelate on Facebook.

"Happy Birthday, Cardinal Tagle!

We wish you more wisdom and strength as you carry out your mission of evangelization worldwide," read the post.

Churches in the archdiocese also posted a greeting and wish for the cardinal on his special day.

"May you grow in being a good shepherd of the flock of Jesus Christ and in spreading the Catholic faith. May you be zealous in your ministry and may Jesus of Nazareth always bless you," the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene or Quiapo Church said in their Facebook page.

"Happy birthday, Cardinal Chito! You are always included in our prayers. May God bless you and may San Lorenzo Ruiz continue to guide you," read the post of the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of San Lorenzo Ruiz.

It was in February 2020 when Cardinal Tagle left the Philippines to assume his new post in the Vatican.

Pope Francis appointed the former Manila archbishop as Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples in December 2019.

Later, the pontiff also elevated Tagle as cardinal bishop, the highest rank within the College of Cardinals.
