The PCG said that it collaborated with the PNP to train the SAF students who are undergoing specialization in Urban Counter-Revolutionary Warfare Course (UCRWC) Class 103-2022 and help them become elite cops.

The SAF students were able to get a first hand training on sea vessel assault onboard the newly commissioned PCG multi-role response vessel, BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701).

During the training, the SAF students performed a series of drills on ship assault scenarios to simulate boarding and securing of vessel bridge and engine room.

The training took place in the vicinity waters off Port Area, Manila from June 20 to 22.

"The said initiative established closer ties and strengthened interoperability of special operations forces of PCG and PNP, specifically in conducting skills enhancement training and operations," the PCG said.

The PCG said the training will help the SAF troopers to ensure their efficiency in carrying out the mandate of the PNP-SAF, which is the primary maneuver unit of the country's armed national police force.

The PNP-SAF is the most elite unit of the PNP and they are often deployed in various areas around the country to perform internal security and counterterrorism operations.
