Over P3 million worth of shabu seized from two suspects nabbed in Ilocos Norte buy-bust


CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO -- Police operatives seized more than P3 million worth of shabu weighing 500 grams following the arrest of two suspects in a buy-bust operation in San Nicolas town, Ilocos Norte on Monday, June 20.

Police Regional Office 1 Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Westrimundo D. Obinque identified the suspects as John Mark Dinong 33, resident of Brgy. Balioeg, Banna, Ilocos Norte and Clifford Malana, 45, native of Aparri, Cagayan and presently renting an apartment at Brgy. 16 San Marcos, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.

Dinong is also a top drug personality in Appari, Cagayan.

The operatives conducted anti-illegal drug operation that resulted in the arrest of said suspects after they were caught conspiring to sell one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu to a police poseur-buyer at Sitio 1, Brgy. 16 San Marcos, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.

Also recovered from the possession of the suspects were several heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of different sizes and containing the alleged shabu, one black chest bag, four aluminum foil strips, one glass tooter, one scissor, three cigarette lighters, one red improvised shovel, one unit Oppo Cellphone, and one Taurus PT 1911 caliber 45 with serial number NDP 05094 with inserted magazine and loaded with 8 live ammunitions and another magazine for said firearm loaded with 8 live ammos.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are to be filed against the suspects.
