Cash reward awaits anyone who can provide info on Lamitan bombers

ZAMBOANGA CITY - The local government of Lamitan City has offered a monetary reward to anybody who can provide information that will lead to the arrest of bombing suspects in Lamitan City.

Vice mayor and mayor-elect Roderick Furigay announced the offer during the city’s Peace and Order Council emergency meeting on Tuesday, a day after an improvised explosive device exploded at the gate of the Lamitan City Hall.

Furigay did not specify any amount saying the reward money will come from contributions by concerned residents of Lamitan.

Meanwhile, Furigay also presented a video footage showing two underaged men on board a motorcycle placing a package on the perimeter fence of the Lamitan City Hall. The two men sped away minutes before the bomb exploded.

P/Maj. Nurhaib Bungkac, Lamitan Police Chief, expressed optimism on the capture of the suspects whose faces were captured on video.

The meeting was also attended by Lamitan City councilors, department heads, barangay officials and PNP, and AFP officials.
