Several dikes in Barangay Lawa in Obando, Bulacan collapsed due to high water pressure.

Obando Mayor-elect Leonardo Valeda has requested Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando as well as Valenzuela City's local officials and the 2nd District Engineering Office for immediate action.

Valeda reported that pressure brought about by high tide impaired the Lawa Floodgate and the dikes in Barangays Tawiran, Lawa, and Paco causing flooding as high as 4 feet to some villages in Obando and Valenzuela City.

Fernando directed Provincial Engineering Office head Engineer Glenn Reyes to promptly send sheet piles and sandbags to temporarily repair the damage to the dikes and stop the surge of water coming in from the Manila Bay.

The contractor of the dikes also dispatched workers to repair the damaged dikes
