DAVAO CITY – President Duterte won’t be jobless even after he steps down after completing his six-year term on Thursday, June 30.

Sen. Christopher "Bong" Go on Sunday, June 19, said Duterte has agreed to be his legal consultant.

Pumayag naman siya (I asked Mr. President if he can be my legal consultant. He said yes), but after his term as president of our country," Go told the media in an interview during the inauguration of Vice President Sara Duterte here.

Go said he was hesitant at first to ask President Duterte to be his legal consultant as the Chief Executive had been through higher positions in government. He added that he was pleased to hear the positive response of the President about his offer.

His body is always looking to work, it's like work is in his DNA. I can only offer him to be my legal consultant and he agreed)," Go said.

Go clarified that the President had not yet formally accepted the offer since he is still considering other options after his term ended.

The position I offered to the president could be just one his options. I cannot speak on behalf of him with regards to other options he had, but he agreed to my offer)," Go said.

Go guaranteed that President Duterte still wants to oversee the country even after his term ended. He said that the people can still approach the outgoing President as a private citizen as he is willing to help in some ways because of his love for country.
