Police seize P3.4-M shabu; arrest 7 suspects in Taguig


The Southern Police District (SPD) arrested seven high-value individuals, including a security guard, and confiscated P3.4 million worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in a buy-bust operation in Taguig on Saturday, June 18.

SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the arrested suspects as Abdul Wahid Solaiman, 41, tricycle driver; Bong Mangelen, 35; Benji Maitum; 27, taxi driver; Badrudin Dalgan, 41; Fahad Solaiman, 18, tricycle driver; Noel Kalim, 50, security guard; and Buhari Malaguit, tricycle driver.

The buy-bust operation was conducted at Sitio Imelda in Barangay Upper Bicutan, Taguig at about 8:30 p.m. by the District Drug Enforcement Unit, District Investigation Division and District Mobile Force Battalion in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Recovered from the suspects were 10 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 500 grams valued at P3.4 million, P1,000 genuine money placed on top of 40 pieces of P1,000 boodle money utilized as buy-bust money, one digital weighing scale and one vehicle.

The suspects were brought to the SPD-DDEU office for documentation and disposition and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
