RSG PH sweeps RRQ in MSC Finals

From Kings of MPL Philippines to Kings of Southeast Asia.

RSG Philippines lived up to its "Kingslayers" billing anew, this time taking down the Indonesia’s "King of Kings" in RRQ Hoshi with a rousing 4-0 sweep in the Grand Finals of the MSC 2022 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre on Sunday, June 19.

The quintet of Jhonard “Demonkite” Caranto, Arvie “Aqua” Calderon, Dylan “Light” Catipon, Eman “Emann” Sangco and Nathanel “Nathzzz” Crisologo rode two huge comeback victories in Games 1 and 2 before thoroughly breaking the spirits of the Indonesian champions in the final two games to bring the MSC crown back to PH along with the lion’s share of the $300,000 prize pool.

Aqua played superb with his positioning on his signature heroes Xavier and Yve to dictate the team fight for the Filipino bets. It was his Xavier along with Emann’s Beatrix which held the fort in RSG’s solid base defense against RRQ’s multiple Lord siege in the series opener.

RSG completed the comeback from a 10K gold deficit to draw first blood, 17-11, in 28 minutes of play.

It was pretty much the same story in Game 2 as RRQ secured the major objectives towards the end but once again lost grip of its lead in the end game. RSG PH took a 12-11 win in Game 2 to take a commanding 2-0 lead.

Rattled by the first two losses, RRQ couldn’t make the right plays in the final two games as RSG put PH in the apex of MLBB Esports anew with a dominant closeout in Game 4.
