The Lady Stags came through with a better service game this time to bounce back from a stinging five-set loss to the Mapua Lady Cardinals.

Reyann Canete sizzled with 24 points built on 19 kills, two blocks and three aces while Christina Marasigan unloaded 15 points on 13 attacks for San Sebastian, which improved to a 2-1 win-loss record.

“Service ang nagdala samin ngayon kasi last game, ang pangit ng service namin kaya kami natalo,” said San Sebastian coach Roger Gorayeb.

The Lady Stags survived a tight contest including the second set where the Lady Chiefs rallied from a 23-20 deficit to 24-all.

But a service error from Arellano’s Charmina Dino and an ace from Canete gave San Sebastian the set victory.

From then on, the Lady Stags set the tone in the third despite persistent attempts from the Lady Chiefs.

Only Carla Donato scored in double figures for Arellano with 10 points as San Sebastian outhustled them in attacks, 42-33, and service aces, 7-3.
