Nora Aunor's children receive Nat'l Artist Award on her behalf

Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon's children, Matet, Ian, Kiko, and Kenneth, collected the Grand Collar and certificate of the multi-awarded actress-singer as National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts.

Matet made this known via a social media post.

She wrote, "Muli, maraming maraming salamat po. Congratulations to our mommy. Our queen. Our superstar. Our national artist. (heart emoji)"

Nora, 69, has been nominated twice in the said category in the past years.

Many consider her a "national treasure."

Some even noted how her rich body of work in film, television, theater, and music for the past five decades makes her more than eligible for the honor.

Recall that Nora started her career as a singer at 14 as a champion in “Tawag ng Tanghalan.”

Jointly administered by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and conferred by the President of the Philippines, the Order of National Artists is the highest national recognition given to Filipino individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of Philippine Arts.
