PCUP, Cebu-based developer finalize turnover of socialized housing for informal settlers


The Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) – Field Operations Division for Visayas met with a Cebu-based developer to finalize the turnover and blessing ceremony of a 100-unit-medium rise building at Brgy. Lorega-San Miguel, Cebu City.

The ceremony will be held on June 29.

Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI), a property developer based in Cebu City, donated the five-story building project to the government of Cebu City to house informal settlers who need to be evacuated from calamity-prone areas.

This will be transitional housing for illegal settlers living near the rivers, sea, and other danger zones.

This socialized housing project costs P155 million and is the first and tallest housing project owned by a local government in the Visayas and Mindanao.

The meeting was also attended by Cebu City Local Housing Board headed by Atty. Janeses Ponce, Cebu City Architect's Office, and Cebu City Property Management Office. (Luisa Cabato)
