Omega shows true form in lower bracket, sends Evos SG packing

Omega proved to be a different beast in the lower bracket as the defending champion sent Evos Singapore packing in a dominant 3-0 fashion to move on to the next round of the MSC 2022 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre on Thursday, June 16.

Duane “Kelra” Pillas set the tone for the romp with a stellar Irithel showing in Games 1 and 2 while Christian “Raizen” Sumagui put on the finishing touches on Ling in Game 3 to advance to the lower bracket quarterfinals.

Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog provided the map pressure in the opener with his roaming Natalia pick, allowing Kelra to have the free reins with his farm in the gold lane.

Kelra quickly snowballed and dictated the team fight with a 6-1-2 KDA while Ch4knu had a 4-2-2 line to power Omega’s 13-6 opening game win.

Riding the crest of the rousing Game 1 win, Kelra continued to stomp in Game 2 with a 5-3-7 line. Ch4knu on the tank Chou also provided the setup to finish with a 2-0-14 KDA while Raizen joined the fray with a 6-1-10 showing on the Lancelot.

Omega took a commanding 2-0 series lead with a 23-7 domination of the Singaporeans in the second game.

With their backs against the wall, the Singaporeans tried to mount a comeback in Game 3. Raizen on his signature Ling, however, quickly slammed the door on EVOS and was close on taking down its tower alone after taking down three Singaporean players.

EVOS tried to hold on but Omega’s final siege powered by the third Luminous Lord of the match put the nail on the coffin for the Singaporean MPL runner-up.
