Modern passenger terminal building in Batangas port inaugurated

BATANGAS CITY - The Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade leads the inauguration today, June 14, of the upgraded Integrated Passenger Terminal Building of the Port of Batangas in this city.

Behind the joint efforts of the DOTr and PPA, the construction of phase 1 and phase 2A of the bigger and modern integrated Batangas PTB was completed.

The modern terminal was constructed in the 15,000 square meter-facility featuring the fully air-conditioned lounges and Persons With Disability (PWD)-friendly facilities and offering convenience and comforts to passengers, Philippine Information Agency (PIA-4A) said.

It added that completed phase 1 and 2A of the facility can accommodate up to 4,000 passengers at any given time.

Meanwhile, once the construction of Phase 2B is completed, the Batangas Port will be hailed as the biggest terminal port in the country with a capacity of 6,000 passengers at any given time.

The upgraded port is now capable of delivering a more efficient, seamless, safer, and convenient maritime travel to local and foreign visitors.

These developments are also seen to further provide livelihood to Batangueños as more job opportunities will be opened and expected to usher economic and tourism growth in CALABARZON (Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Rizal-Quezon).
