Pasig LGU to launch Independence Day job fair

The Pasig City local government announced that it will launch a job fair for its citizens as part of the celebration of the country’s 124th Independence Day on Sunday, June 12.

In a Facebook post, the city government said that the job fair will be held at the Pasig Sports Complex from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

A total of 67 companies will join the event which opens 9,503 job vacancies, according to the city government.

“Kaya naman hinihikayat ang lahat, lalo na ang mga first time job seekers na dumalo at maghanda ng maraming kopya ng inyong mga resume (We are inviting everyone, especially first time job seekers, to attend and prepare multiple copies of your resumes for the event)," it said.

The job fair will also serve as a one-stop-shop for employment requirements where attendees can process their documents from the Social Security System (SSS), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Pag-Ibig, and Philippine National Police (PNP) (police clearance).

The city government said first time job seekers who will process their free police clearance must first provide their Barangay Certificate and Oath of Undertaking from their respective barangays, proving that they really are first time job seekers.

Aside from Pasig City, the cities of Manila, Taguig, and Parañaque will launch their respective job fairs on Sunday in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
