Grammy-nominated K-pop group BTS set another personal record by selling two million copies of their new album in just one day.
According to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, BTS’ anthology album “Proof” sold a total of 2,155,363 on the first day of release on June 10, achieving the status as “double million seller” again.
This is the second time that BTS sold two million copies of an album on the first day of release.
BTS’ “Map of the Soul: 7” sold 2.65 million copies on the first day of release on Feb. 21, 2020, based on data from Hanteo Chart.
They are the only artist to achieve two million copies in album sales on the first day of release, according to Hanteo Chart.
BTS’ “Butter” CD that was released last year sold 1,975,364 copies in the first week of release based on Hanteo data.
Attention is now focused on whether “Proof” will surpass the first-week sales of 3,378,633 copies achieved by “Map of the Soul: 7” in February 2020.
The first-week sales of “Map of the Soul: 7” are the highest in K-pop history on Hanteo Chart.
Hanteo Chart announced that it will award BTS with the two million first-week sales certification.
In addition, “Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment),” the lead single of “Proof,” took first place on Korea’s largest music site Melon’s Top 100 chart.
On YouTube, the music video for “Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment) has garnered 48.2 million views as of 11:13 p.m. on June 11 since it was released on June 10.
