The Taguig City Science Terminal and Exhibit Center will be built on a DOST property in Barangay Central Bicutan.

The project is a five-story multi-purpose building and integrated transport terminal with park facility with a total floor area of 13,680 sq. m.

A project of the Taguig City government in partnership with the DOST, the building’s first three floors will serve as a terminal hub for public transportation and commuters, and the fourth and fifth floors will be service offices, and science and technology exhibit center.

“Isang mahalagang proyekto na naging posible sa pakikipagtulungan namin ng inyong Kuya Alan Cayetano sa DOST, DPWH at Local Government ng Taguig (This is an important project which became possible with the cooperation of your Kuya Alan Cayetano and myself with the DOST, DPWH and Local Government of Taguig),” said incoming mayor Cayetano in a Facebook post.

She said one of the goals of the project is to address the traffic congestion along Gen. Santos Avenue in Taguig.

“Bukod kasi sa pagiging abala ng daang ito, dito pa rin nakaposte ang ating Jeepney at Tricycle Terminal (Besides being a busy road, it is also where jeepney and tricycle terminal is posted),” she added.

Cayetano said the first phase of the project involves the construction of a sky roof and science exhibit center and other offices under the DOST.

The second phase of the project will see the construction of the multipurpose hall, DOST Science Park, commercial center, art installation, water feature and amphitheater.

“Para sa ating mga taga-Taguig, katuparan ito ng matagal na nating pinapangarap na pag ginhawa ng daloy ng trapiko sa DOST, gayundin ang mas maayos na kalagayan ng mga commuters (For our Taguig residents, this is the fulfillment of our dream to ease traffic flow at DOST, in addition to providing comfort to our commuters),” she said.

Cayetano added that the road widening project from the DOST to Lower Bicutan continues that will benefit the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Taguig City University, Camp Bagong Diwa and connection to the Lakeshore Development.

She thanked DOST led by Dela Pena, saying the project will not only benefit Taguig but other nearby areas.
