Four vehicles slide and fall to water as cargo vessel tilts in Real Port

REAL, Quezon – Three dump trucks and a wing van slid out of a cargo vessel that tilted during the cargo-loading process at Real Port, Barangay Ungos in this town on Friday afternoon, June 10.

Initial investigation revealed that the LCT Balesin Cargo vessel was trying to balance its position after loading the three heavy dump trucks that were to be transported to Polillo Island when the cargo suddenly tilted to the left.

As a result, the three heavy trucks and the wing van slid and eventually fell into the water, according to Quezon Police Public Information Office chief Lt. Lovelynn Lalunio.

The three dump trucks are owned by PKL Construction and Supplies, while the wing van is owned by Alphaland Logistics.

The incident happened at around 3 p.m. It was reported right away to the Real Philippine National Police which conducted an initial investigation to determine what caused the cargo to tilt.

Lalunio added that the Real PNP made coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Northern Quezon for the conduct of in-depth investigation.
