As of May 14, the extension campus was already 48.43 percent completed. The construction started in October 2020.

The 900 square meters three-story structure will be allocated for classrooms, offices, training spaces, and a conference room.

The design and plans were facilitated by UPV's Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Planning and Development headed by then VC Martin Genodepa.

The construction of the UPV extension aims to bring UP closer to the community.

This project, costing P50 million, was the brainchild of Deputy Speaker and Antique Rep. Loren Legarda.

Legarda was once again elected as Senator for the incoming 19th congress.

The lot's previous owners, Yolanda Batara and Daughlet Ordinario, formally turned over the land to UP last October 2020 by signing a Deed of Absolute Donation at the Pandan Municipal Hall. (Luisa Cabato)
