When we say travel and Subic, usually the first thing that comes to our minds is Duty Free or beach. 

But did you know that these place has a lot more to offer than these? Here are three of exciting activities you can do the next time you visit Subic, Zambales

  • Visit the Bat Kingdom

Unknown to many, Subic has its own version of Bat Kingdom where thousands of bats including including fruit bats, bamboo bats, golden crowned flying-foxes that are known to be the biggest bats in the world, and lesser flat-headed bats which are the smallest bats in the Philippines.

Located at Cubi Point Triboa, it is best to visit this large protected rain forest during day time where you can see these bats sleeping upside down in the tree branches or just simply flying around. 

  • Eat steak at Meat Plus Cafe

If you're a meat lover, one of the best restaurants to visit in Subic is the Meat Plus Cafe. This place offers variety of food choices. But the must try is their wide array of stake choices including Rib Eye, New York, TopSirloin, and Tenderloin. You can even pick your meat in the fridge and have it cook by the chefs. The best part?   • Learn jungle survival skills

In Holy Land Sanctuary, you will meet the native Aetas who are taking care of the area and what them is Kuya Christopher Duero. If you're in time maybe, you will be able to catch him cooking food in unconventional manner. This mean cooking rice and dishes in bamboo. According to Kuya Christopher from time to time, he teaches survival skills to group of people who love adventure and outdoor activities. 

So if you're up for some thrill, look for him and learn some survival skills. 

As of writing, the travel time from Metro Manila going to Subic Bay, Zambales will take at least three hours if you pass by North Luzon Expressway.
