Navotas City Mayor-elect John Rey Tiangco and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-CAMANAVA District Director Rolando dela Torre distributed tools kits to tech-voc graduates in the city on Wednesday, June 8.
A total of 48 passers of Bread Making Leading to Bread and Pastry Production NC II each received an oven, a digital weighing scale, a mixing bowl, measuring cups, and spoons.
The tool kits worth P5,000 each are under the Special Training for Employment program.
“Aside from the free courses offered at NAVOTAAS Institute, we teamed up with other tech-voc centers in neighboring cities so that Navoteños will have access to more courses and learning opportunities,” Tiangco said.
“We hope that by providing them with quality skills training and scholarship benefits, including allowances and tool kits, they will be more eager to pursue their dream careers and businesses,” he added.
The beneficiaries completed their course in December 2021 at Horizons Institute of Technology, a partner technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institute (TVI) of the Navotas Vocational Training and Assessment (NAVOTAAS) Institute.
Since January this year, 350 trainees have graduated from NAVOTAAS Institute.
