9 gun ban violators, drug suspects arrested in Pateros, Taguig, Muntinlupa


Nine persons were arrested by the police for alleged gun ban violations and suspected illegal drugs worth P281,600 in Pateros, Taguig, and Muntinlupa on June 7 and 8.

On June 8, the Southern Police District’s Drug Enforcement Unit, together with the District Intelligence Division and District Mobile District Mobile Force Battalion, dismantled an alleged drug den and arrested five drug suspects in a buy-bust operation on Hermosa Street in Barangay San Roque, Pateros.

The suspects were identified as Emanuel Feir Reyes, 48, tagged by the police as a high value individual and alleged drug den maintainer; Jose Marie Pimentel, 23; Dennis Rivera, 46; Gerald Rondario, 28; and Alison Kye Jacinto, 21.

Seized during the operation were 10 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 27 grams with a value of P183,600; seven plastic sachets containing dried leaves suspected to be marijuana, weighing 250 grams with a value of P30,000; and one P500 bill used a buy-bust money.

In Taguig City, the Taguig police’s Sub-station 9 conducted an anti-criminality operation in C6 Road, Lakeside, Barangay New Lower Bicutan that resulted in the arrest of a security guard for suspected illegal drugs and illegal possession of a firearm.

According to the police, a citizen approached Maj. Crisanto Agualin, Sub-station 9 commander, and informed him that security guard Jimmy Bacus, 41, was armed with an improvised firearm or “sumpak.”

The police confiscated from the suspect's possession an improvised firearm with two live ammunition. During frisking, the police also recovered one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing five grams with a value of P34,000.

In Muntinlupa City, the police’s intelligence section were conducting an anti-criminality operation in Sto. Nino Street in Barangay Poblacion when they arrested suspects Wilfredo Martinez Jr., 29, and Joffrey Delez, 18, for possession of suspected shabu weighing five grams worth P34,000.

In Sitio Sto. Nino in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa, the police’s Sucat Sub-station personnel arrested Christian Orbeta, 20, for alleged gun ban violation.

The police were conducting an anti-criminality operation when they saw the suspects standing in an alley. When they approached the suspect, they saw a gun tucked in his waist.

They asked Orbeta for documents for the firearm but he failed to show any, prompting the police to arrest him. Confiscated from him were a .38-caliber revolver and two live ammunition.

All the arrested suspects are under the custody of the police while the seized illegal drugs and firearms were turned over to SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis and ballistics examination.
