Several senators are now slowly moving out of their offices at the Senate complex in Pasay city as their terms expire on June 30.
Outgoing Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III said his taking out of his personal effects at his Senate office does not hurt as he looks at the transition from a high government official to a civilian at the practical side.
Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph G. Recto is taking out his personal effects without being emotionally hurt.
Recto, grandson of nationalist Senator Claro M. Recto, said he is thankful that he was given the opportunity to serve as a senator for 18 years.
Senate Minority Leader Franklin M. Drilon, a former Senate President and former Justice secretary, is also moving out of his office to become a consultant of a reputable law firm.
Sotto, Recto and Drilon served for two consecutive six-year terms or a total of 12 years.
Senators Panfilo M. Lacson, Richard J, Gordon, Leila de Lima, Francis Pangilinan and Emmanuel Pacquiao are also taking out their personal effects at their Senate offices.
All five senators lost in the May 9, 2022 elections.
