Mandaluyong fire renders 72 families homeless


The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported on Monday, May 30, that over 72 families or 288 individuals lost their homes and belongings after a fire hit a residential area in Barangay Barangka Ibaba, Mandaluyong City.

According to the spot report, the fire started from a room at the second floor of the house owned by Edilberta Glinogo and occupied by Anna Balayo and Allan Sarmiento at 2:58 p.m. and reached the second alarm at 3:18 p.m. Firefighters declared fire out at 6:44 p.m.

It added that more than 36 houses and establishments were damaged by the fire estimated at P180,000.

There were no injuries reported.

Arson investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire.
