Just a few days after Liza Soberano's international career plan made headlines, the young star already achieved her first US mainstream interview.
Liza was among the special guests on the American annual music festival, Identity Festival, held at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, California recently.
There, Liza talked about why her US trip was a "dream come true," her plans on exploring exciting new opportunities, and her favorite Filipino food restaurant in America, among others.
"Thank you for having me. And it feels very surreal. I'm actually really nervous right now because, like, this is my first time speaking on a stage in America," Liza told the hosts, who asked about her thoughts on being with them and in front of the audience.
Liza said it has always been a dream of her to come to the US and be able to do work there.
"And so I'm really happy to be here, really excited, and I feel incredibly honored," she said.
So, anything she's excited about coming up in terms of career-wise?
"Well, there's a lot of exciting things in store. Nothing really to talk about specifically; just me trying to explore different opportunities out here and in the Philippines; stuff I've never done before. So please watch out for that," she teased.
Asked to give a piece of advice to Filipino girls who want to follow her footsteps, Liza said: "just go for it."
"A lot of the times, it can be scary to kind of go outside of your comfort zone. And I, myself, I'm experiencing that right now. Like, it would be so much easier for me to just stay back at home and do the same thing that I've always been doing. But my personal goal is to be able to bridge the gap between the Philippines and America," she shared." "...kind of give help... help the younger generation - the little girls - who also dream of coming out here and making a career for themselves. And I want to make it easier for them when they do that in the future. And if that means me taking the first leap, and so be it."
Just recently, Liza's talent manager of 11 years, Ogie Diaz, revealed that the 24-year-old star didn't renew her contract with him, which expires today, May 31.
The TV host-comedian continued that Liza’s career is set to be handled by the management team of James Reid.
