Antipolo Cathedral launches rosary guide for Rosary For Peace with Pope Francis


The National Shrine of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, also known as the Antipolo Cathedral, has released a downloadable Rosary Guide to be used by participants who will join in the Vatican-initiated Rosary For Peace with Pope Francis on Wednesday, June 1.

Earlier the Antipolo Cathedral has reminded those who would like to personally come to the shrine by 11 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31.

Those will attend the cathedral activity are also encouraged to to be in their white clothes and bring their own rosary with them.

The Rosary Guide shows the Introduction explaining briefly how the religious activity will be led by Pope Francis, in front of the image of Mary Regina Pacis inside the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Marian image which was commissioned by Pope Benedict XV in 1918 to ask the Virgin to end World War 1.

The recitation of the Holy Rosary will commence on May 31, Tuesday at 6 p.m. (Rome Time) and June 1, Wednesday, at 12 midnight, (Philippine Time) after Pope Francis has laid flowers in front of the statue of Mary Queen of Peace.

The start of the recitation of the Sorrowful Mystery, the Agony in the Garden; The Scourging at the pillar; Crowning with thorns; The carrying of the cross; the Crucifixion and Death of our Lord, with the praying of the Our Father, 10 Hail Mary, Glory Be... and Fatima Prayer will be done by those inside the Antipolo Cathedral simultaneous with the praying in Rome.

After the final decade, the Salve Regina will be sung and the Litany of Loreto will be recited at the Antipolo Cathedral.

Pope Francis is expected to bless all via live streaming for his final blessing.

Fr. Reynante Tolentino, shrine rector of the Antipolo Cathedral said following Pope Francis’ blessing will be the offering of candles by cathedral participants and the message and thanksgiving by the rector before the activity ends with a concluding hymn.
