ILOILO CITY – A total of 267 fugitives and 67 drug suspects were caught across Western Visayas region in police operations conducted in a week.
The Police Regional Office (PRO-6) reported that 43 fugitives are classified as most wanted persons (MWPs) while 224 are considered as other wanted persons (OWPs).
They were caught during an anti-criminality campaign dubbed as ‘Birada Semana’ conducted from May 23 to May 29.
Out of the 43 MWPs caught during the week, 13 were caught Iloilo province, 11 MWPs in Negros Occidental province, six each in Antique province and Bacolod City, three each in Iloilo City and Capiz province, and one in Aklan province.
Of the 224 OWPs, 118 were apprehended in Negros Occidental province, 57 in Iloilo province, 17 in Antique province, 12 in Aklan province, eight in Bacolod City, five in Capiz province, four in Guimaras province, and three in Iloilo City.
Police arrested 67 drug personalities in their anti-drug operations, with 28 of them arrested in Negros Occidental.
Also arrested were 22 drug suspects in Bacolod City, nine drug suspects in Iloilo City, five in Iloilo province, two in Guimaras province, and one in Capiz province.
