Majority of Western Visayas still under Alert Level 1 from June 1 to 15

ILOILO CITY – Several areas in Western Visayas (Region 6) will remain under Covid-19 Alert Level 1 from June 1 to 15, according to the national government’s COVID-19 task force.

The regional capital of Iloilo City will remain at Alert Level 1, despite having three cases of the Covid-19 Omicron BA.2.12.1 sub-variant. These cases have already recovered.

Iloilo, which consists of 42 towns and the component city of Passi, will remain at Alert Level 1. Prior to May 16, the province was under Alert Level 2.

Also remaining under Alert Level 1 from June 1 to 15 are Aklan, Guimaras, and Capiz as well as the highly urbanized city of Bacolod.

However, Antique and Negros Occidental are still under Alert Level 2 for the same period, after government’s Covid-19 task force recommended that they stay in that alert level.
