These offices were among the 1,128 public offices and 497 private establishments that have been conferred with the seal in La Union.

The ‘Safety Seal’ is a government certification program affirming that an establishment has been inspected and was found compliant with minimum public health standards such as proper wearing of face shields and face masks, good ventilation, disinfection and is using the StaySafe.ph application system or a local contact tracing system integrated with StaySafe.ph.

For private establishments, they must also possess the necessary documents to operate.

The DILG Inspection and Certification Teams in the component LGUs headed by their respective City and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs) have issued 1,128 Safety Seals since the inception of the program.

The teams were also able to renew 306 public offices and certify more than 300 public schools as they prepare for the limited face-to-face classes.

Among private establishments, the LGU Inspection and Certification teams issued 497 Safety Seal certifications.

Every six months, the Safety Seal certifications are subject for renewal to assess their sustainability and compliance of the establishments based on the inspection checklist.

This includes the use of StaySafe.ph application, use of face masks and face shields, hygiene, safety and disinfection protocols, patient referral and infectious waste management.

The DILG-La Union Provincial Office was recertified for being able to sustain its compliance with the Minimum Public Health Standards (MPHS) set by the program.

“We are committed to the safety of our personnel and clients. The Safety Seal affirms this commitment as we continue to ensure the best and safest working environment for them,” said DILG-Provincial Director Reggie R. Colisao.

The number of public and private establishments awarded with the Safety Seal in La Union has increased, highlighting the observance of public health and safety protocols against Covid-19 by residents and companies.
