PCOO presents Duterte legacy report on May 30-31

The Summit will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City by PCOO's Office of the Global Media and Public Affairs (OGMPA).

Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said that the two-day event would be PCOO's last act of thanking and recognizing the "tapang at malasakit" governance of President Duterte and all public servants who have brought impactful changes and meaningful developments to the Filipino people.

"In a month's time, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will step down from office with a myriad of success stories and accomplishments that changed the lives of Filipinos over the past six years," he said.

"This summit will also serve as a culminating activity of our Duterte Legacy campaign that promotes the landmark programs and achievements of the Duterte administration in all sectors of the community," he added.

President Duterte is expected to share a personal message about the summit via video, while Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea will deliver the keynote speech. Cabinet Secretary Melvin Matibag will give the closing remarks.

Cabinet officials will present their last reports to the public, including their accomplishments, policies, and projects that improved the lives of Filipinos over the past six years. Beneficiaries of specific government projects and programs will also share their success stories and testimonials.

The Duterte administration's six Cabinet clusters will report on their achievements based on the government's 10-point socioeconomic agenda.

The summit will feature key campaign promises of the administration that were realized, like the Universal Health Care Law and Malasakit Center, Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education, Bangsamoro Organic Law, anti-illegal drugs campaign, and migrant workers' protection.

In January 2020, the PCOO launched the Duterte Legacy campaign to highlight the accomplishments of the Duterte administration and tell the stories of those who benefitted from them. As part of the campaign, the agency conducted caravans and town hall meetings in different provinces. It has also produced short documentaries, publications, and other digital campaign materials.

The PCOO and its attached agencies will provide full coverage of this two-day event through the People's Television Network (PTV) for media coverage and Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM) for online live streaming on Facebook and YouTube.

PCOO and the Bureau of Communications Services (BCS) will also have a Duterte Legacy Photo Exhibit featuring significant and momentous events made by the administration since July 2016.

"This is our final report. This will leave a lasting and remarkable mark to the public on how the Duterte administration did its job in the name of public service," Andanar said.

Coinciding with the event, Secretary Andanar will also unveil the PCOO Legacy book featuring the agency's accomplishments and much improved operations and its attached agencies. The book also features the government's advanced and intensified methods of communication to reach more Filipinos.
