Miss Universe 2021 Top 5 finalist Beatrice Gomez couldn’t be grateful that she was awarded with the Military Merit Medal.

The Military Merit Medal is given “…for heroic achievement in combat or meritorious achievement for service not involving participation in combat, in connection with military operations against an enemy of the Philippines; for a single act of meritorious service either in a duty responsibility or in direct support of military operations.”

On Instagram, Gomez uploaded behind-the-scene photos of her latest milestone.

She wrote as caption: “It always feels like home. I am honored to be welcomed into a new family as an Honorary Member of Friends of Marines (FOM). I am truly honored as well to be awarded with the Military Merit Medal (3M).”

“Rest assured that I will continue to pursue my involvement to support military operations to serve the Filipino people,” Gomez said.

It was January last year when she completed the citizen’s military course training of the Philippine Army Reserve Command in Eastern Visayas with the rank of corporal. A few months later, she was promoted to sergeant.

Gomez has been active in different activities like the feeding program.
