12 drug pushers nabbed; P3-M marijuana plants destroyed in Benguet, Kalinga


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Twelve suspected drug pushers were arrested while over P3-million worth of marijuana plants were destroyed in Benguet and Kalinga during a week-long anti-illegal drug operation.

The Police Regional Office-Cordillera Regional Operations Division, in a report, said that from May 15 to 21, the Baguio City Police Office recorded the highest number of arrests with six drug personalities followed by Apayao Provincial Police Office (PPO) and Benguet PPO with two arrests each and Abra PPO and Kalinga PPO with one arrest each.

In Baguio, the arrested drug personalities were identified as Arjay Simeon, 25; Ibalson Cadangen, 37; Rey Christopher Abero, 38; Ronald Ellana, 33; Janewen Lui, 42; and Karlo Ibarra, 31.

In Apayao, police arrested John Arian Magro, 27, and Cleo Tabbu, 40. Arrested in Benguet were Joemamel Dipatuan, 37, and Ellaine Cariaso, 37.

Authorities apprehended Jojemar Bagni, 31, in Abra, and Gian Vincent dela Cruz, 29, in Kalinga.

Seized in separate buy-bust operations were a total of 18.19 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price (SDP) of P123,692 and the confiscation of a total of 1000.9 grams of dried marijuana leaves with an SDP of P120,108.

In the continuous marijuana eradication conducted in Benguet, police destroyed a total of 4,350 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP) with an SDP of P870,000 and 5,000 pieces of dried marijuana leaves with an SDP of P600,000.

In Kalinga, a total of 8,500 fully grown marijuana plants with an SDP of P1.7 million and 1,000 grams of marijuana seeds with an SDP of P25,000 were destroyed.
