BACOLOD CITY — Two 14-year-old teenagers drowned in the sea in Barangay Sampinit, Bago City, Negros Occidental Sunday, May 22.
The victims, a boy and a girl, whose names were withheld, were both residents of Barangay Sampinit.
Bago City police chief Police Lt. Col. Joem Malong said the victims and their three other minor companions asked permission from their parents to jog early that day. However, the kids decided to go on swimming.
Malong said the two victims were swept by a huge wave and were far from their three other companions. The three survivors were able to seek help for the two victims to be brought to a hospital. However, the two were declared dead on arrival.
Malong said the two victims did not know how to swim.
