Shabu-selling cop arrested in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY – A cop was arrested for allegedly selling shabu here over the weekend.

The suspect was identified as Police Staff Sgt. Igmedio Lasala Cristobal Jr., who was arrested after selling two plastic sachets of shabu worth P5,000 to an undercover cop Sunday morning in Molo district.

After the arrest, cops also found 17 plastic sachets of shabu worth P374,000 and several drug paraphernalia.

The 40-year-old cop, who is assigned at the Regional Personnel Holding Administration Unit (RPHAU-6) of the Police Regional Office (PRO-6), has been tagged as a high-valued target.

Cristobal was arrested by combined elements of the PRO-6 Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU-6) and the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).

Following the arrest of Cristobal, PRO-6 director Police Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo readily issued stern warning against men in uniform.

“The PRO-6 leadership is not remiss in reminding all its personnel to abide with the related policies and the consequences of the violations and involvements in any form of illegal activities are not tolerated,” said Dongbo.

“This incident should be considered as a warning and reminder to all the men and women of PRO-6 that any conduct, dealings and involvement in any crime or illegal activities will not be condoned and will be strictly and appropriately dealt with,” added Dongbo.
