STA. TERESITA, Cagayan -- An elderly man died due to serious injuries he sustained after his motorcycle rammed a concrete electrical post in front of the Luga Elementary School in Barangay Luga, this town, Sunday (May 22) morning.
The victim, Federico T. Balesteros, 74, a resident of Barangay Alucao, here, was rushed to the Alfonso Ponce Enrile Memorial District Hospital in Gonzaga, this province, but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Juliet R. Banatao, attending physician.
Responding policemen from this town said the victim was seen unconscious, facing downwards and blood was oozing from his head.
Police reported the victim was traversing the provincial road on board a motorcycle heading towards the curve portion of the road.
He lost control of his motorcycle which rammed into the concrete electrical post. Concerned citizens immediately called the police to rescue the victim.
