Average daily rate of Covid-19 in PH is 9.9% higher than past week--- DOH


Compared to the recorded number of Covid-19 cases from May 9 to 15, the average daily rate from May 16 to 22 is 9.9 percent higher.

This was according to the weekly Covid-19 data of the country released by the Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, May 23, noting that the average daily rate in the recent week is 173.

The data of the health department showed that 1,214 new Covid-19 cases have been logged from May 16 to 22. Of the said number, 14 individuals reportedly have severe and critical cases.

Meanwhile, the week prior to it—May 9 to 15----had recorded 1,118 Covid-19 cases, having an average daily rate of 160.

The DOH said three individuals died due to the dreaded disease from May 9 to 22.

The public was urged by the health department to continue observing minimum health and safety protocols to stem the transmission of Covid-19.

It has also called on the public to get Covid-19 booster shots to further protect themselves from the dreaded disease.

For individuals experiencing Covid-like symptoms, the DOH advises them to isolate themselves immediately.
